Stand update! Just put out 3 water propagation bottles (tradescantia 'nanouk', philodendron 'lemon lime', and purple heart), a little potted aeonium, and another cactus watering globe. Also pictured is some microgreens that I have extra from the most recent batch I made and I wanted to share them but it's too hot to put them in my stand. So if you would like them, please let me know and we can arrange a pickup. I will comment if they are no longer available.

Speaking on the topic of it getting hot, I love this warmer weather, but it makes it harder to have some more sensitive to sun plants in the stand (like herbs and houseplants), as well as the water bead propagation jars (the beads like to melt and get gross with the heat), so I am trying to find solutions for that, but for now I am putting them in the back and underneath to try to shield them a bit.

Please do the same if you drop off any plants that aren't full sun to make sure they have the best chance of surviving, I keep a pretty close eye on the stand though so I'll try to adjust them as needed, but thank you for your attention to this matter, I hate to see sun burned plants dying in stands. I tried the umbrella thing but it's so windy in LB that even with a 35lb stand the wind grabbed it and broke the arm! So perhaps more shadecloth, we shall see.

I may do the same as I'm doing with the microgreens sprouts and post what water bead props I have and then folks can let me know which they'd like to claim and I can put it out for them shortly before they come by so they don't go bad in the sun and so I can still offer them, stay tuned! If nothing else, I will still be bringing them to local swaps a couple times a month!

Also, I just wanted to announce that my good friend and neighbor Denise Luce is now involved with Plantastic Swaps and is graciously assisting me with running and hosting the stand, and will also be joining me (Emily) and Katie from SoCal Free Plants and Seeds 🪴🌻 cohosting another plant swap on June 10 in Long Beach this time.

Late afternoon update! First four photos are new items I just put out at the stand: a cactus shaped watering globe, a spider plant, a 5 pack of plastic plant labels, and a basket plant cutting in a water bead propagation cup.

Last three photos: someone took all the decorations out of the plants in my stand, so I added new ones! Happy gardening!

Good morning planty people!!! Today’s stand restock includes a potted spider plant, potted baby pepperoncini pepper plant, and some decorative pampas grass.

Now that the rain is done, all the plants are back out as well as the other stuff like seeds and stickers in the toolbox that had to stay dry. Happy gardening! 💚🌿🍄

Since I decided to keep the stand open this weekend since it isn’t going to rain too much, I went ahead and put out this weekend’s ✨special item✨, an iridescent mister for your humidity loving plants!

Also I added two baggies of Jobe’s fertilizer spikes, an aeonium cutting in a water bead propagation cup, some small plastic pots, and a Swiss Ivy cutting in a special blue bottle (is UV proof and works great for cuttings whose roots are sensitive to light, and it also cuts down on algae growth etc)!

Feel free to message or comment any questions about any of the plants, cuttings, or propagation methods that I use. Also as always, to pot up cuttings people leave at the stand, I can always use donations of potting soil that can be left on my porch.

Additionally, I am looking to trade for pothos and tradescantia cuttings, as well as other vining/easily propagated plants for projects I am doing, please contact me directly if you have any to trade or donate!

Also, just a side note: please check your plants and cuttings for pests before and after picking up; sometimes people leave them and don’t realize pests are there and we are trying to keep a safe and clean environment for everyone.

It doesn’t look like it’s supposed to rain too badly or long the next two days now that the forecast updates this morning, so I’m gonna put the plants back out and under something instead of on top of the stand per usual, so the stand will look a bit different and less cute this weekend but is open!
