💚🪴Plant of the week🪴💚

The Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata) is a striking indoor tree with large, glossy, violin-shaped leaves. It is a little fussy, but the key is consistency: give it plenty of bright, indirect light, water when the top inch or two of soil dries, and keep it in a stable, warm, draft-free spot. Avoid moving it around or overwatering, and it rewards you with bold, lush foliage.

☀They appreciate being near a sunny window but dislike direct, harsh sunlight that can scorch their leaves and can cause brown spots. Ideal locations would be an east-facing window or a filtered south-facing window where they can receive several hours of gentle, diffused sunlight each day.

💧Regularly check the soil moisture by inserting your finger about two inches deep and watering only when the soil feels dry. Always use a well-draining potting mix and ensure your pot has drainage holes to let excess water escape.

The Marble Queen Pothos.

This one is the perfect houseplant to add to your collection. Easy to care for and beautifully variegated with yellow, white and green colors 😍

💧 Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Pothos are forgiving and tolerate occasional drying out but don’t let the soil stay soggy.

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light is best, but Pothos can adapt to lower light conditions.

The carnivorous Tropical pitcher plant (Nepenthes)

Pitcher plants grow in nutrient-poor soil. Instead of relying on fertilizer, they trap and digest insects to get the nutrients they need. Use a potting mix that is specifically for carnivorous plants. Regular houseplant soil is too rich and can kill pitcher plants. Or, make your own by mixing equal parts:

*Sphagnum moss or coconut coir
*Perlite
*Orc

They need plenty of light, consistent moisture, and high humidity, which is why mimicking their natural environment is key to keeping them healthy.

When watering pitcher plants, use rainwater or distilled water, as these plants can be sensitive to the chemicals in tap water, also avoid watering into the plant’s pitchers.

💚🪴Plant of the week🪴💚

The Alocasia Polly. The Polly is a stunning tropical houseplant with its deep green leaves and prominent white veining. Its compact size and striking appearance make it a favorite of many collectors.

Caring for Alocasia Polly involves balancing several key factors: light, soil, water, and humidity. It’s not a plant for the casual or forgetful gardener, as it demands regular attention and specific conditions.

☀ Alocasia Polly requires bright, indirect sunlight.

🌱A well-draining, slightly acidic soil rich in organic matter suits Alocasia Polly best. A mixture of potting soil with added perlite and peat moss can create the perfect environment for the roots. The soil should retain some moisture without becoming soggy, as poor drainage can lead to root rot.

💧High humidity is essential, and levels can be maintained through misting, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water. Consistent watering is vital for Alocasia Polly. Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring that excess water can drain away.

The Philodendron Lemon Lime. 💚This show-stopping houseplant brings a burst of electric color to any room. A cultivar of the classic Heartleaf Philodendron, this variety stands out with its brilliant chartreuse, heart-shaped leaves. It is a fast growing, vining plant that is incredibly easy to care for.

☀Proper lighting is the key to maintaining the stunning neon color of your Lemon Lime Philodendron. It thrives in medium to bright, indirect light. An east-facing window that gets gentle morning sun is ideal. It can also do well a few feet back from a south- or west-facing window.

💦The Lemon Lime prefers its soil to be kept consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry to the touch.

🪴💚Plant of the week💚🪴

The Alocasia Dragon Scale. This stunning tropical beauty features thick, textured leaves with veining that resembles dragon scales—hence its name. 🐲

☀The Dragon Scale prefers bright indirect light an East window ideal.

They need a chunky, airy mix soil.

As with most Alocasia's they prefer higher humidity levels, a humidifier is recommended.

💧Watering is also very important; these plants need consistent moisture without becoming waterlogged. Humidity and proper watering are crucial for success.
