In 2020, I found my dream property. As a single mom of five, it was a tough decision to sell my home and uproot my family, but something about this land called to me. Seven days later, I was the proud owner of 10 acres...and homeless. I hired a contractor to build my house. Five months later, I had a foundation and a camper with no electricity. That contractor stole over a hundred-thousand dollars from me and ran. Devastated, angry, heartbroken....these do not begin to express the depth of emotion. I made a few agonizing decisions in the months following. My family had supported us for a year by now, so step one was to get back on our feet as much as possible. My mother and father helped us finish installing electricity and we moved into two campers on our beautiful little piece of land. I built a composting outhouse. Step two was to beg the bank to let me have the remainder of my loan to build my home. They agreed, and a couple days later we hit the ground running. Step three, get my contractor's license so I can run a contracting business the way it's meant to be run: transparently, honestly, and competently. With the sage advice of experience cheering me on and helping me as often as possible, my home and my new business endeavor began to take shape. My goal is to offer quality building services to individuals at reasonable prices and to operate my business with complete transparency so you can rest assured that your needs are being met.
