I got a few minutes out of what has turned out to be the busiest year I have had, to play with the Makenzie today. I have the rot removed and scarf joints started. Next step will be gluing Douglas fir back into the hull. It might just be me but it’s starting to look better than brand new.

This was a dangerous opening down to the basement. A support wall was built and paneled. A window seal shelf was installed for support. Two pantries were installed in front. It will need varnish trimmed in and a small chunk of railing. Problem solved!

This is a book shelf I made for my friends. It is made of Russian Olive wood stained dark and shot with varnish. It is absolutely beautiful when looking at the grain. This project took way longer than it should have and a huge thanks to them for being super patient with me! The end result was killer!

No door jam no problem! Just some trim in the beginning stages and a door jam I built from rough sawn Douglas Fir. I cut in the hinges and drilled for and k**b. It works great, and saved the homeowners in scraping a door and starting over.

This is a deck I built this summer. Since then I have sprayed and brushed it with deck oil. The top was reused PT Douglas Fir lumber. The slight weathered look under the oil looks great!

Finished up this one last week. Huge thank you to the homeowners! Truly special people! It will always be a pleasure to help/work for people like this! This is a 6’ Cedar picket privacy fence. It features a recessed 4’ gate. Built with all treaded pine posts and stringers.

It is a good feeling to create unique things for such amazing people in our community. These are a set of three shelves, in a kitchen. They match a wrap around breakfast nook I did years earlier. The unique aspect of it is they are made of Russian Olive trees. A big thank you to the homeowners for trusting Black Dog Carpentry with your projects!

This was a busy week of flooring an entire house. The pictures are of two different areas but the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, two sets of stairs, a bathroom, and two bedrooms were all floored with vinyl flooring. Not bad for one guy. The end result was great! Flooring is an instant improvement.
