I have mites!!!!! Finally!!!

I have been on the Department of Agriculture’s waitlist for Bindw**d Mites for years. I try to use all organic or natural products in my garden and in our property That can make things a bit more challenging, but much safer and more rewarding in my opinion.

So, I’ve been battling bindw**d since we moved here. I’ve been using good ‘ol elbow grease to manage them all these years. It’s impossible to really kill them, it’s basically management for life because of their insane taproot system. But the mites are the one killer they cant beat.

I learned about the mite program years ago from fellow natural gardeners. There is a very long waitlist, but after years of waiting, I have my very own biocontrol agents!!!!!

I am going to release them tomorrow when there’s a smaller chance of rain. I’ll take pics!! Take that, you spawn of satan w**d from hell!!!!!

This gardening season is going to look a lot different than previous years while still healing from my broken back. I can’t bend over, lift over 10lbs, squat, climb ladders, etc.
No garlic this year since I was in the hospital and surgery during planting season. I am trying potatoes this year instead. I chose not to grow my own plants this year and that makes me sad, but it was the right choice. I’ll buy plants from fellow gardeners instead.
I will try my hardest to keep everything as simple as I can. 🌱🌱

Well, it’s not perfect, but not horrible for my first attempt at jelly with suspended bits. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Habanero Gold Jelly with apricot, habanero, red onion, plus homegrown jalapeño and ajvarski sweet red pepper from my garden.
It won’t matter what it looks like when it’s smothering some delicious cheese!! 🧀🌶️

Loving this warm fall weather. The garden is still in full swing!!! Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, dill, beans and even the strawberries and raspberries are still producing!
I was certain with the abnormal wet cold weather this spring we were going to have an early frost or snow, but I am so happy that’s not the case.
