Not every “cheap” quote is actually the least expensive.

One of the biggest mistakes we see is flooring installed over a surface that wasn’t properly prepared. It may look great on day one, but over time the planks begin to separate, flex, squeak, or even break.

This floor is a perfect example.

The vinyl plank now has to be removed so the subfloor can finally be prepared the right way before it can be reinstalled. That means paying for the job twice.

Proper floor preparation isn’t the exciting part of a flooring project, but it’s one of the most important. Whether that means grinding high spots, patching low areas with Henry’s Floor Patch, or self-leveling an entire room, taking the time to do it right is what gives your new floor the best chance to last for years.

We gave the space a fresh start—removing the tub, building new tile shower walls up to the ceiling, and adding built-in shelves for everyday storage. The shower now features a brushed nickel trim, a sleek niche, and easy-to-clean surfaces.
