There are lives that leave footprints on earth… and there are lives that leave them on our hearts. Rogelio “Roy” Soliz, Jr. was both.

A pioneer and pillar in the paving industry of Laredo, he and his brother co-founded Soliz Paving, Inc. building a respected business whose quality and integrity earned the admiration of many and left a lasting mark on the community.

He was a builder of more than roads; he built trust, he built character, he built people. His hands shaped the work, but it was his spirit and faith that shaped the way. In every decision, every act, every word, he carried the quiet strength of a man whose compass was fixed on God…

Roy led not with noise, but with presence. He taught by example in the steady way he honored his word, in the dignity with which he treated others, in the patience he brought to challenges, and in the faith that guided every step. His legacy is not measured only in dirt and asphalt, but in the countless lives he touched, uplifted and inspired.

Now, his labor is done. The tools are laid to rest. The road he walks is golden, leading him into the embrace of his Savior. In that place of eternal peace, the storms are silenced, the burdens are lifted, and his reward everlasting.

We will carry forward the lessons he left us to work with honor, to lead with humility, to love without condition. His spirit will stand within every foundation we lay, and his influence will echo in every life we touch.

Roy, your hands built lasting things… but your heart built what will never fade.
