Pool service has been getting more expensive lately for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons is the increased cost of chemicals and equipment. In recent years, the cost of pool chemicals has risen significantly due to a variety of factors, including increased demand and the rising cost of raw materials. This has led to higher prices for pool owners, who are now paying more for chemicals such as chlorine and pH balancers.
In addition to the increased cost of chemicals, the cost of pool equipment has also been on the rise. Pool pumps, filters, and other equipment are essential for keeping pools clean and well-maintained, but they can be expensive to purchase and maintain. As a result, pool service companies are charging more for their services in order to cover the increased cost of equipment and supplies.
However, it's important to note that not all pool service companies are charging the same prices. In Las Vegas, for example, Certified Pool Service offers competitive prices and the best service in the area. They are able to offer high-quality pool service at a fair price, thanks to their experienced and knowledgeable staff and their commitment to using the best equipment and chemicals on the market.
Another factor contributing to the rise in pool service prices is the increased demand for these services. As more and more people have pools in their backyard, the demand for pool service has increased, leading to higher prices. This is especially true in areas with a high concentration of pools, where competition for pool service can drive prices up.
Additionally, the rise in gas prices has also contributed to the increase in pool service prices. As the cost of gas increases, pool service companies must pay more to operate their vehicles and equipment. This added expense is often passed on to pool owners in the form of higher prices for pool service.
Finally, the rise in minimum wage and labor costs has also contributed to the increase in pool service prices. As labor costs rise, pool service companies must charge more for their services in order to cover these costs. This can lead to higher prices for pool owners, who may be paying more for the same level of service they received in the past.
Overall, the increased cost of chemicals, equipment, gas, and labor have all contributed to the rise in pool service prices. While these factors may be out of the control of pool service companies, they are ultimately passed on to pool owners in the form of higher prices. However, companies like Certified Pool Service in Las Vegas offer competitive prices and the best service in the area, allowing pool owners to get high-quality pool service at a fair price. As a result, pool owners can still find affordable pool service, even in the face of rising prices

Swimming pools are a great addition to any backyard, providing endless hours of fun and relaxation. However, one common issue that pool owners face is the growth of algae. Not only is algae unsightly, but it can also be harmful to swimmers and cause damage to the pool itself.
To prevent and control algae growth in your swimming pool, it’s important to regularly maintain and clean your pool. This includes regularly testing and adjusting the pH and chlorine levels, cleaning the filters, and skimming the surface to remove debris.
In addition to regular maintenance, there are also algaecides that can be added to the pool water to kill and prevent algae growth. Copper-based algaecides are commonly used and are effective at killing a variety of algae types. However, it’s important to be aware of the potential effects that copper can have on your pool’s surface.
Copper can cause staining and discoloration on some types of pool surfaces, such as plaster, fiberglass, and vinyl. It can also cause etching on marble and other porous surfaces. It’s important to carefully follow the instructions on the algaecide label and avoid over-treating the pool with copper.
If you are unsure about using a copper-based algaecide or if you have a sensitive pool surface, there are other options available. Alternative algaecides, such as those containing quat or polyquat, are less likely to cause staining and are effective at killing and preventing algae growth.
To further prevent algae growth in your pool, it’s also important to limit exposure to sunlight and other sources of nutrients that can fuel algae growth. This includes regularly covering the pool when not in use and avoiding over-fertilizing plants and grass near the pool area.
In conclusion, regular maintenance and proper use of algaecides are key to controlling algae growth in your swimming pool. Be mindful of the potential effects of copper-based algaecides on your pool’s surface and consider alternative options if necessary. By taking these steps, you can enjoy a clean, clear, and healthy pool for years to come.

Having a swimming pool is great for relaxation and entertainment, but it can also be a source of stress when something goes wrong. One of the most common problems with pools is high pH, which can cause skin irritation, cloudy water, and scale buildup. Fortunately, fixing a high pH in a swimming pool is relatively straightforward. First, you need to determine the exact pH level of your pool. The ideal range for a swimming pool is 7.2-7.8. To test the pH level of your pool, you can use a pool water test kit, which is available at most home improvement stores. Once you’ve determined the exact pH level of your pool, you can start to make adjustments. If the pH level is too high, you’ll need to add a pH reducer, such as muriatic acid. This should always be done slowly and carefully, as too much acid can damage your pool’s surface and equipment. You may also need to add a buffering agent, such as sodium bicarbonate, to help stabilize the pH level in your pool. This will help to prevent drastic swings in pH levels in the future. Finally, it’s also important to make sure your pool is properly chlorinated. This can help to reduce the amount of bacteria and algae in your pool, which can contribute to high pH levels. By following these steps, you should be able to quickly and safely fix high pH levels in your swimming pool. With a little bit of maintenance and care, you can keep your pool sparkling clean and safe for swimming all year round.
