I’ve had this mysterious cookie cutter for about 30 years, and after all that time I still can’t confidently say what it’s supposed to be! 😂🍪 I’ve heard plenty of guesses over the years, but this one has some really specific, intricate bends and tiny details that make me think there has to be an actual intended design hiding in this strange shape. Every time I rotate it or look at it from another angle, I start seeing something completely different—and then I’m right back where I started. 👀 At this point, this little piece of metal has turned into a decades-old mystery that needs solving. Okay friends, we’ve officially reached the last item in my collection of cookie cutter gifts, and I may have saved the biggest mystery for last. 😂🍪 Of all the strange shapes I’ve tried to figure out, this one might be the most bizarre—and possibly the most provocative. Between those two long pieces sticking up, the curled shape on one side, the crescent-looking detail, the long piece on the other side, and that oddly shaped body, I genuinely have no idea what the original designer was going for. 👀

The only thing my brain keeps coming back to is Tanooki, but even that is just my best guess at this point! The longer I stare at it, the more confusing it becomes, and I’m convinced someone out there is going to recognize it immediately and make me wonder how I ever missed it. 😂 So, friends, this is your final cookie-cutter challenge: is this actually Tanooki, or what in the world is this mysterious cutter supposed to be?

I’ve been staring at this cookie cutter trying to figure out what it’s actually supposed to be, and now I can’t unsee one very specific answer. 👀😂 To me, it looks like Santa Claus holding a giant surfboard—which raises even more questions than it answers. Maybe Santa decided to trade the sleigh and snow for some waves this year? 🎅🏄‍♂️ The shape is so strange that I’m sure there’s probably a completely normal explanation, but “surfing Santa” is officially stuck in my head now. 😂 What do you see when you look at it—Santa holding a surfboard, or is it something totally different?

Any guesses what this unusual cookie cutter is supposed to be? 👀🍪 At first glance, the shape is so strange that I can understand why it might leave people completely confused. But there’s actually a fun story behind it—it’s Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog! 😂 My family is from Punxsutawney, and we make these special cookies for Groundhog Day, so this funny little shape has become part of the tradition. And as unusual as the cutter might look before it’s decorated, the cookies themselves are absolutely delicious—the recipe is seriously one of my favorites! This cookie cutter has me completely stumped! 😭 I’ve turned the shape around in my head over and over, and somehow every time I think I’m starting to see something, it turns into something completely different. The pointed end, those three strange dips across the top, and that long rectangular section have me questioning what this was ever intended to make. 😂 It feels like the answer should be ridiculously obvious once someone points it out, but right now I’m getting absolutely nowhere. We’re going through my mom’s pretty decent-sized cookie cutter collection, and this one has officially stopped us in our tracks! 😂🍪 We’ve turned it around, stared at it from every possible angle, and tried to make sense of all those strange little bumps and curves, but nobody can agree on what it’s actually supposed to be. The kids’ best guess so far is a smushed thumbs-up 👍, and now that they’ve said it, I honestly can’t unsee it! 😂

Thanks for all the hilarious and creative suggestions—we’ve had so much fun hearing what everyone sees in these mystery shapes. We’re actually baking the cookies now, and since this cutter refuses to reveal its true identity, everyone is going to decorate their cookie with whatever design they think it looks like. 😁 That might make this mystery even more entertaining! Any ideas what this wonderfully bizarre cookie cutter is supposed to be? 🤷‍♀️🍪 I’ve stared at all those dramatic curves and curls, rotated it in my mind about a hundred times, and somehow every angle gives me a completely different answer. Just when I think I’ve figured it out, that giant looping section throws the whole theory right out the window. 😂

At this point, my best explanation is an elf’s shoe with an excessively, outrageously large—and possibly dangerous—tongue sticking out of it. 😂👞 Seriously, imagine an elf trying to walk around in that thing without taking out everyone nearby! Maybe there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for this shape, but until someone solves the mystery, “elf shoe with a dangerously oversized tongue” is what I’m going with. What do you see—can anyone give this strange cutter its real identity? 👀🍪

Any ideas what this bizarre cookie cutter is supposed to be? 👀🍪 I’ve stared at the shape, turned it around in my head, and tried to make sense of every bump, curve, and little protruding section, but it just seems to get stranger the longer I look at it. 😂 There are so many possible creatures hiding in this outline that I’m starting to think this might be one of the most confusing cutters yet.

My best guess right now is a tardigrade—a tiny “water bear”—because that unusual chunky body and all those little leg-like shapes somehow seem to fit. But I’m definitely not convinced, and I have a feeling someone is going to see something completely different immediately. So what do you think: could this actually be a tardigrade, or what else do you see in this mysterious shape? 😆🔍

What on earth am I looking at here? 🤔🍪 I’ve stared at this cookie cutter from every possible angle, and somehow the longer I look at it, the stranger it gets. There’s that huge rounded section, a long stretched-out body, and those odd little points along the bottom that could apparently be almost anything. Every time I think I’ve finally figured it out, my brain immediately comes up with another ridiculous possibility. 😂

Right now, all I can see is a dog caught in the middle of one absolutely enormous yawn—head thrown back, mouth wide open, completely exhausted with the world. 😂🐶 But surely there’s an actual design hiding in this shape that I’m completely missing. I “inherited” this mysterious cutter from the former teacher’s playdough bin, and somehow this innocent little thing has become the source of an ongoing debate in my preschool classroom. 😂 Every time it comes out, the arguments start all over again because apparently there are two very determined sides—and neither one is willing to surrender!

Half of the kids are absolutely convinced it’s a robot 🤖, while the other half look at those shapes on top and insist there’s no possible way it could be anything except Shrek. 😂💚 At this point, I’ve looked at it so many times that I can honestly see both answers, which is definitely not helping me settle the classroom controversy. So we need some outside opinions before this becomes the great preschool mystery of the year: Team Robot or Team Shrek—what do you think this cutter is actually supposed to be?
