I’ve been a little quieter lately, but it’s been for a good reason. 🌿

Behind the scenes, I’ve been planning the biggest transformation this backyard has ever seen.

The tree is finally getting pruned. The catio is about to become a reality for Kai and Cleo. Garden beds will be moving. And soon, this space will become home to a floating deck, a greenhouse garden studio, and so much more.

This isn’t just a garden anymore—it’s becoming the place I’ve been dreaming about for years.

I can’t wait to bring you along for every success, every mistake, and every DIY project.

Let’s build it together. 💚

I used to think more pruning meant healthier plants.

This summer taught me otherwise.

Here in the Las Vegas heat, healthy leaves aren’t just making plants look messy—they’re protecting fruit, shading the soil, and helping everything survive until cooler weather returns.

Sometimes gardening isn’t about doing more. It’s about knowing when to step back.

First, I thought I had one watermelon…

Then the wind knocked my trellis over, and I found two Moon & Stars and one Sugar Baby hiding under the vines. 🍉

I temporarily secured the trellis with zip ties, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. These little melons mean pollination is happening—even if I never catch the pollinators at work.

Time to inspect every vine again. 👀🌿

I used to walk into the garden looking for something to fix.

Now I spend more time watching.

Gardening has taught me that not every curled leaf is a crisis, not every slow week means failure, and not every season needs to be rushed.

Some things need time to adjust.
Some things need deeper roots.
Some things are growing long before we can see the results.

The garden reminds me of that almost every morning.

The garden doesn’t give everything at once.

A tomato here.
A handful of basil there.
A pepper finally ready after weeks of waiting.

Small harvests have a way of reminding me that growth is happening, even when it feels slow.
