Sure, you can read a bunch of books about gardening. Or, you can become a Master Gardener. Those learning methods work, but my suggestion is go and get yourself a plot at a Community Garden and I guarantee that you will learn more than any Master Gardener class or 4 year degree class will ever teach you!
