May is Garage Door Safety Month, and at 724 Garage Door we recommend general maintenance on your doors and motors once a year to help keep your family safe and extend the life of your garage door system.
Garage doors see more action during the summer months with kids going in and out, riding bikes and scooters, and spending more time outdoors. Taking a few preventative steps now can help avoid costly repairs and improve safety all season long.
Here are some important maintenance and safety checks we offer during annual service:
Teach your children how garage doors work, what the opener does, and how safety sensors protect them.
Frequently sweep or use a hand blower to clear dirt, leaves, and cobwebs from safety sensor areas, especially after the winter months.
If your garage door system does not include safety sensors, we highly recommend upgrading to a newer opener with this important life-saving feature.
Inspect springs for rust, creaking, or other signs of wear and deterioration.
Check hinges and brackets for cracking, bending, or warping.
Inspect tracks for damage and lubricate moving parts as needed.
Tighten screws, bolts, and hardware as part of annual preventative maintenance.
Complete a full aesthetic and structural inspection, including checking for dents, damaged panels, or other signs of wear.
Call today to schedule your maintenance appointment and keep your garage door operating safely and smoothly all year long.
