Designing a home is about so much more than creating a beautiful space. It’s about understanding the people who live there, the way they gather, rest, and spend their everyday lives, and finding thoughtful ways to make life at home even better.

This project was especially meaningful because it was our own family home, and the clients were my wife and daughter. The goal was to transform what once felt like a cold, underused backyard into a welcoming retreat where our family could truly enjoy spending time together.

The finished space completely changed the way we live in our home. From quiet mornings on the porch to evenings spent outside together, every design decision has added comfort, beauty, and joy to our everyday routines. It has become the backdrop for so many special memories already, and that is always the greatest reward of good design.

I hope you’ve enjoyed following along with this transformation, and I look forward to sharing more homes and projects created with the same care, intention, and attention to detail. Thank you for being here and following along on this journey.

I’m excited to officially launch Bill Holloway Design, a custom house plan company based right here in my hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing projects I’m currently working on, along with homes I’ve designed over the years. Residential design has always been a passion of mine, and it means a great deal to now be designing homes in the very community that inspired me to pursue this profession in the first place.

To me, a home should tell the story of the people who live there. I believe the best designs come from building genuine relationships with my clients and understanding the way they live day to day. Every plan I create is thoughtfully designed with the hope that it brings beauty, comfort, and a sense of belonging to the place you call home.

Thank you for following along and supporting this new chapter. I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you and getting to know many of you along the way.
