ADUs are coming to Maryland — but they won’t all be treated the same.

State law is opening the door, but counties will still decide which ADU types are allowed, and under what conditions.

Detached units, garage conversions, interior ADUs, and above-garage units can all trigger different rules around parking, setbacks, fire separation, and utilities.

That means the ADU you’re thinking about matters long before you design, budget, or submit anything.

County-by-county ordinances are still being written.
Understanding the landscape early is how you avoid redesigns and delays later.

This was truly one of my favorite projects of 2024—helping to empower the next generation of culinary experts, one mile at a time!

🌞 Heat Wave Alert! Stay Safe and Hydrated! 🌞

Hey everyone! The heat wave is in full swing, and it’s more important than ever to stay hydrated, especially if you’re working outdoors. Here are 5 signs of dehydration and 5 tips to stay hydrated during extreme heat:

Signs of Dehydration:

Thirst: Feeling thirsty is the first sign you’re already dehydrated.
Dry Mouth & Lips: Your mouth and lips may feel dry or sticky.
Dark Urine: If your urine is dark yellow or amber, it’s a sign you need more fluids.
Dizziness & Fatigue: Feeling lightheaded or unusually tired can indicate dehydration.
Headache: Dehydration can cause persistent headaches.
Tips to Stay Hydrated:

Drink Plenty of Water: Aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Carry a water bottle with you!
Opt for Sports Drinks: Water is great, but sports drinks with sodium and electrolytes are even better to replenish lost nutrients.
Eat Hydrating Foods: Snack on fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumbers, and oranges.
Avoid Sugary & Caffeinated Drinks: They can increase dehydration.
Take Regular Breaks: Rest in the shade or a cool area whenever possible.
