Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Did you know Labor Day dates all the way back to the late 1800s?
It was created to honor American workers during a time when many people were working 10–12 hour days, six or seven days a week, often in unsafe conditions. The labor movement helped push for things we now take for granted—safer workplaces, better pay, reasonable hours, and time to actually rest.
The first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City in 1882, and it became a federal holiday in 1894.
So today isn’t just about a long weekend. It’s about recognizing the people who show up, work hard, build businesses, care for families, serve their communities, and keep this country moving every single day.
I hope today brings you a little rest, something good to eat, and time with the people you love. ❤️🤍💙
