Good Morning from the Home. Amber's pet Serama hatched a chick. Another small round of Narragansett turkey chicks hatched. The goal is to raise them for the freezer with a butcher date in late November. Our second Mama cat have birth to kittens. Its a thunder storm and rains this week so everyone is staying inside in stalls. Im about to wean Rilla's baby goats and start milking her for us. We have a huge over abundance of fresh eggs. Its time to do egg projects. All the best clean eggs will get put into half gallon jars with lime for preserving for off season. We will use another 40 eggs and make a giant batch of scrambled eggs with kale and spinach for the dogs. I freeze it into one quart containers and we use one at a time as a raw dog food topper. We will also make another round of breakfast sandwiches and burritos for the freezer. Ambroisa (doeling goat pictured), loves me maybe more than the dogs do. She is the sweetest most affectionate animal ever. I have gone outside of the house every day for a week now. Which just shows my lungs are finally starting to improve. Im rebuilding from zero, so I cant walk far or do anything, but getting fresh air and a short walk in the yard is so good for my mental health. Being stuck in bed with no energy sucks, so its nice to see another step forward. The chicken coop expansion and goat playground expansion are both on hold due to the rains, but if the weather behaves they will both be done this next weekend.
