Good morning everyone! We announced the other day that we were looking to create a DIY alarm installation kit. For those of you that might have missed that post, be sure to go and “like” it for your chance to win the ongoing contest for a $100 visa gift card. We’re still in the preliminary planning stages of this project, but we’re looking to get some feedback from everyone. When this program goes live, it will be servicing the middle Tennessee area. Once it starts going good, the plan is to expand it gradually. The base kit we’re looking at going with will include a control panel/keypad combo, 3 door/window sensors, a motion detector, and a wireless siren. The price point we’re looking to be around is the $399 range, with an active monitoring subscription. As always, we do not have a binding contract with any of our monitored accounts. The monthly subscriptions would start off AS LOW AS $14.95/month (ACH). The base monitoring will even include the mobile app for remote arming/disarming. The next step up would include the mobile app with advanced features (user code management, app notifications, arm/disarm schedules). Then the next step from that would include mobile app controlled Z-Wave, with favorites and schedules! The pricing for those packages would be $19.95 and $24.95/month ACH, respectively. We would also create an online store where y’all could just go onto our website and order it straight from there, with options to pickup or ship directly to your house. All systems will be pre-programmed and all devices will be tested before the systems leave our office.
The panel/keypad combo will be USB powered with a countertop stand. The XTLtouch has built in 4g LTE cellular communication, WiFi communication, and a Z-Wave controller that supports up to 140 devices. Also, all sorts of devices can be added to this panel, up to 99 zones. These zones can include, smoke detectors (with sync, so all the rooms that have them will go off), heat detectors, water/flood sensors, temperature sensors, waterproof panic buttons, glass breakage detectors.
So with all of this being said, who would be interested in one of these kits, or know someone who may be? Any feedback is appreciated.
