When choosing a siding and windows contractor, ask lots of questions!
But which questions should you ask? The list can feel endless, so we’re here to help simplify. When talking to a potential contractor, always ask these five questions (and our answers):
1. Is the company licensed and insured? Making sure the company has the proper coverage means that they will be able to cover issues that arise to protect their crews and your property. (We are fully licensed and insured!)
2. How long have you been in business and what does your warranty look like? We pair these questions together because you want to make sure if someone offers a long-term warranty that the company will still be around in the future to honor it! And only about half of construction companies make it past the first five years. (We’ve been in business for more than 40 years and offer a lifetime labor warranty.)
3. Who is my point of contact? Make sure you know who you will be talking to and who will be giving you updates. Not everyone will have the same people checking in on your project every day. (We assign you a dedicated project manager who is onsite daily and will give you regular updates.)
4. What does your process look like? Your contractor should be able to give you a detailed look at each step of the process to get you all on the same page. Know the timing and what to expect next. (We will walk you through this, remind you of next steps, and do a final walkthrough to make sure there are no uncertainties.)
5. When is payment required and what are my options? Each contractor offers different payment plans and options. Ask about the terms to find the approach that works best for you. (We are happy to guide you through the process and available options for payment, including financing options through us or a bank. Just let us know what you need!)
These initial five questions will help get you off on the right foot in determining if a contractor offers everything you need. And if you still have more questions afterward? Ask away!
