This opportunity is a full time, permanent position, working all year round with plenty of overtime available. This is a roughneck position that requires the commitment to show up every day ready to support the team and mission.
RW Water Wells, Inc. is a professional and well‐respected water well drilling company based in Leon, Oklahoma in the beautiful Red River Plains area south of the Arbuckle Mountains, halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma City off I‐35. We primarily drill residential, agricultural, & municipal water wells and offer a full range of submersible pump services. We are seeking a self-motivated, mechanically inclined, safety‐minded team player to join our family and earn great money as we provide On‐the‐ Job‐Training (OJT) and the opportunity for advancement. As a team member of our Drill Crew, you will be responsible for following the directions of the Drill Crew Captain in the safe & efficient operation of the drilling rig. You will be “the eyes” observing cuttings and the preparation work of drilling and installing water wells. Key Responsibilities:
The Drill Crew Team Member assists the Drill Crew Captain with drilling operations including:
- Review of project requirements with Drill Crew Captain daily prior to leaving shop.
- Assist Drill Crew Captain in the loading/unloading of trucks & moving equipment to/from project location.
- Assist Drill Crew Captain in the assembly & positioning of machines, casing pipes, and other equipment.
- Safely operate machinery and equipment to industry guidelines (example: skid steer & backhoe).
- Assist Drill Crew Captain in repair & maintenance work on equipment.
- Maintain drill cuttings sample board.
- Monitor for the drilling operations using instrumentation, senses, and experience including:
- Monitoring machinery fluids.
- Visually identifying materials extracted through the drilling process.
- Place and install screens, casings, and backfill material as directed.
- Run casing & cementing.
- Use associated equipment/tools including but not limited to:
- The operation of breakout tongs.
- Use of drilling slips to assemble/disassemble drilling pipe & collars.
- Assist in the end‐of‐day shutting down/securing of rig.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by Drill Crew Captain.
Schedule:
Our standard work week is Monday through Friday, but weekend work is possible. Workday starts at 8am at the office/shop; standard shifts are 8 hours, but 10‐to‐12‐hour shifts are likely depending on project complexity and workload.

Position Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age.
Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
Minimum of 6 months of driving experience.
Willing to adhere to all work safety rules and regulations.
Willing to follow directions of the Drill Crew Captain leading the field work.
Must have reliable transportation & live within commuting distance of main office in Leon, OK.
Willing to work more than 40 hours a week and long hours such as 12‐hour shifts.
Ability to pass a Drug Test and Background Check.
Desired Skills:
Exposure to Drilling is preferred, but not necessary if a mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Exposure to air rotary & mud rotary drilling methods a plus.
Class A CDL preferred but not necessary.
General mechanic skills a plus.
Physical Tasks & Requirements:
This position is physically demanding, requiring physical labor in an outdoor environment year‐round, lifting and carrying heavy loads repetitively with good mobility and body mechanics safely.
Must be able to lift and carry 55‐60+ pounds on a frequent basis.
Must be okay with working around loud heavy machinery.
Other physical tasks may include shoveling cuttings or other material throughout the day, trenching, & plumbing assistance.
