There are certain moments on a flower farm that make you forget the weeds, the mosquitoes, and the never-ending to-do list.

Last night was one of them.

I spotted this sweet pea bloom from across the field, dropped the water hose, and headed straight for it. Then I did what every flower farmer waits all year to do…I buried my nose in it.

And oh my goodness… it is glorious!

This is the very first sweet pea bloom I’ve found this season. It’s a little reminder that all those vines covered in buds are getting ready. We’re not quite at cutting stage yet, but we’re getting close.

For now, I’ll happily stop watering, abandon my chores, and admire every single bloom that opens.

Sweet peas are coming. And they smell every bit as wonderful as I remembered!🌸

I made a few special corsages this week and tucked in some sweet pea foliage as the greenery.

As I was wrapping stems I spotted them! Do you see that little curl of buds? Those tiny tendrils are a promise of what’s coming next. Sweet peas are one of my favorite flowers on the farm…fragrant, delicate, and worth every bit of patience they require.

After a long spring of planting, weeding, watering, and waiting, it’s always exciting to spot those first buds forming.

Sweet pea season is almost here!🌸

Tonight, we celebrate the Hermon High School Class of 2026. 🎓

Congratulations to all of the graduates as you walk across that stage and into your next chapter. The future is wide open, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you.

But tonight, we’re especially celebrating our favorite girl, Mikelle. ❤️

We’ve watched you work hard, grow through challenges, chase your goals, and become a strong, kind, and capable young woman. We are endlessly proud of you.

As you head off to new adventures, we hope you know that some things never change. There will always be a place for you here on Gasoline Alley. There will always be a boat seat waiting for you at First Roach Pond. There will always be a lookout chair saved during Moose Week. And there will always be a place for you at every Devlin family dinner…whether you’re five minutes away or five states away.

Your roots run deep, and no matter where life takes you, this will always be home.

Congratulations, Mikelle. We love you beyond words and are so proud to call you ours.

And congratulations to the Hermon High School Class of 2026. 🌸

The mosquitoes were absolutely feral tonight while I was out watering!

But you know what wasn’t horrible?

These sweet little pansies and ranunculus!!

Somehow after a long day, a handful of flowers can make you forget about the bugs, the weeds, the never-ending to-do list, and the fact that you’re pretty sure you donated a pint of blood to the mosquito population.

It’s the little things. And tonight, the little things were pretty darn beautiful. 🌸
