Night and day! What an absolute update to this staircase. The hand rails and treads were sanded down and refinished, the spindles, risers and stringers, were also sanded and refinished . No problem. Beautiful!

However I was kinda disgusted with this job for some other reasons.

My customer had issues getting installers for carpet to reinstall this runner .My customer called many carpet companies to put this runner back up and for some reason no one wanted to take on this job. Granted it's a small job. But I can't stand people just not coming to do work for people and giving excuse after excuse. An installer told my customer he would do the work but wanted to talk to me. Got on the phone with him and he starts on about his liability because he never installed it in the first place. He would have done it this way, blah blah , etc. Etc. I told him it was installed and kept this way for many many years no problem ( literally removed the carpet and was only tacked at the top and bottom riser) he could not believe no staples were involved) still wanted nothing to do with it. Honestly it was just an excuse for a small job he didnt't want. I know contractors and even some of the best just make up some BS excuses. So anyway. I took it upon myself and It took me about an hour to get this carpet back up in return for service for my customer. I am not a carpet installer but it helps to have a brain. Also my client was up in age and needs to have this to be able to get up the stairs. This was my focus and knew I needed to get this back up ASAP.
Know that there are sh*tty contractors out there. I am not one of them. I will go above and beyond my scope. I also care about my customers and this was an easy fix, if anyone had bothered to look at the job or even get a pic . But it's hard getting people out that is "worth their time".

Well I don't feel that way. I was happy to help and get this runner back in service for my customer. After refinishing the steps .All is worth my time, I was happy to do so. 🩷🩷🩷. These are the things that make jobs custom. Have a heart and love what you do and who you do it for.

Once again I didn't take the before photos! Someone please get me a manager 😂 anyhow. my client had this hood and floating shelves and wanted them to be the right tone to match the flooring. they also wanted to bring in a tone from a wallpaper that was used in an adjoining room. that would be used on the banquette. The banquette needed lots .. you know prep! even though it was new. Lots of sanding and filling etc. So the real challenge was matching a stain color to flow with her floors.
I won't take all the credit for this, but did you know that stains can be matched to whatever flooring you have? This called for a milky cocoa mix and I had help with my local Benjamin Moore retailer to help me customize a stain color for these shelves, and customize the mix to go on the cedar for this hood. They were different wood types and would take the stain differently so some thought had to go into this to make it work. . They were also able to make a perfect match to the existing cabinets for the green on the hood to match. The possibilities are really endless. If you have a contractor to take the time and care for what you want in your home it really makes a difference. It took a lot of time, thought and effort to get this right. An experience that doesn't always happen with a painting contractor. Not many would want to even take the time to make sure everything is perfect. That's what makes me different from the rest. The quality and care shows. That's what makes it custom❤️

This was a bit of a project as the doors were in terrible shape and sadly I did not take many pictures at the install, was just a long day and sometimes you don't have the opportunity to photograph at the end of a job. Anyhow, here are some working photos. Lots and lots of prep went into these doors to get them looking like a new kitchen. I also helped my client to pick out her perfect green to go with her ideals for her kitchen. A lot more than painting goes into projects and not all contractors do well with the whole package. I can certainly say I have the patience and knowledge to overcome many issues including clients worries and that's the magic that becomes the result. ❤️
The last few photos are from the install but not completed with hardware in some photos as we were short on some handles coming in. These turned out beautiful.

Had a bit of an unusual ask from a client. He bought this ceramic ( pictured left) and wanted to change it to his favorite team colors. This was a fun project and I nailed it! He was overjoyed with the results!
Took a bit of learning and honing down some airbrush skills, which would not have been possible for the orange without . Hand painted the rest of the details and set it with a glaze.

This was a summer project I've just wrapped up. Lots of work on the older part of the home including the wooden shutters that were cracked and peeling badly, lots of sanding and TLC went into the shutters to restore them. A beautiful copper sill plate that was covered in years of paint , I stripped and cleaned up back to the original. Reglazing on the old windows, all that fun stuff that comes along with older homes. Total transformation. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
