We have lots of color on this gray day, and now is the best time to plant!

We’ve heard rumors of the F word ❄️ FROST ❄️for tonight but that should only be on the western side of the county. But it is time to pay attention to the low temperatures if you have summer annuals, herbs, or vegetables you want to keep alive.

This is just a reminder that we are also closed today (Wednesday) this week. We will reopen Friday at 8 am!

TODAY we saw a hummingbird (and lots of pollinators) on our pineapple sage! So we wrote this (with the help of A I):

An Ode to Pineapple Sage -
O bright green leaves of scent and spice,
A late-year treasure in the sun,
Your pineapple aroma is so nice
When autumn days have just begun!
While other flowers fade to gray,
Your brilliant crimson blossoms bloom;
A feast of fire along the way,
To banish cold and days of gloom.
The hummingbirds in darting flight,
And busy bees with golden knees,
Drink down your nectar with delight,
And enjoy the cooling autumn breeze.

(We don’t currently have any pineapple sage available, but we grow it every spring!)
