What is Plasti-Dip you say?
Well, let me tell you about it.
Plasti-Dip was originally designed to DIP the handle of one's tool, like a pair of pliers, into a thick liquid plastic which would dry into a rubber coating around the handle.
You can still buy this thick Plasti-Dip in its original thick rubber like consistency today in most hardware stores.
Plasti-Dip has since evolved into a colored, thinner sprayable consistency, allowing it to by used in other applications, as in spraying coatings over metals, wood, plastic, fiberglass or most anything that can be sprayed with paint.
The product is unique today in that it is designed to be sprayed with numerous coats to such a buildup that in three or so years it can be actually peeled off the surface easily.
This allows the owner of the piece sprayed, to change his mind about the color, and peel it off back to the original color or simply be painted again in a different color.
The beauty of spraying with Plasti-Dip is that it is so cost effective compared to the other paints jobs, about one third the cost, that a person can change his mind about the color, peel it off and spray an entirely different color and texture for the next three or so years.
Still, though peelable, the product is very durable to the elements, outside or in. It can endure snow and ice, salt, small stones bouncing off from it, rain and other weather, car wash after 3 weeks of curing.
That's about it. If you have any questions about Plasti-Dip please don't hesitate to ask me for more information
