The reason we work so hard perfecting the craft of reclaimed wood is evident here! The reason I continue this labor of love is clients like Barrett Goff. This reclaimed oak floor was hand selected from a barn next to Makers Mark Distillery, so close you could smell the bourbon when milling the planks! Thank you Chad Turner of Carpet Specialists for turning my craft into a masterpiece with your installation!

I have been ripping barns for 20 years now, this is #364! It was a 100 foot long 1950’s to***co barn in the middle of what will be a development for 250 new homes. We started stripping the siding yesterday, and at 6:00 decided to drop it. About the time I was ready to work the magic a guy walked up and asked if he could watch, I said better yet, shot the video! As you can see he is quite the videographer. Thank you to Brett Hersant for putting this to some fine tunes! Another one bites the dust, and I live another day performing one of the most dangerous arts!

Check out the reclaimed engineered oak herringbone flooring. We took down a barn on a property in Cambellsville for a customer last May, and he wanted to mill every piece of it into flooring. The barn yielded 800 square feet of 30” herringbone and 7,200 square feet of random length, random width flooring. Thank you Dallas for allowing us the artistic freedom to craft this beautiful floor. This is in the top 5 jobs we have done in the last 20 years. I almost forgot to put a picture of the barn that the floor was made from!

Here we go again! This is the 3rd barn we have dismantled on Bethlehem Rd. Again, we have a 12 bent 7 tier to***co barn loaded with a bunch of excellent material. This was the least desirable barn on the property due to condition and type of material, until we actually got the barn on the ground to look closer at the material that was once so high in the air. This barn did not come down as nicely as #2, but, once on the ground, the salvage went pretty well. In my next post, I will show off some of the really unique material that was salvaged, but for now, all I can provide is a crazy video of a very difficult barn to wrestle to the ground. It took 7+ attempts to get the barn to drop, but on the 8th, I found the correct approach. Overall, this one was a huge rush of adrenaline due to the fact that it appeared to be in poor condition, yet, it was next to impossible to push down. Notice in this video that I am pushing from the side instead of the ends which is more common. I attempted to push from the end, to no avail, and ended up working several positions from the sides before I found the weak spot. Sorry to be long winded, but this barn went against the grain from start to finish. I hope you enjoy the video as much as we did producing it.

Reclaimed Wood Millwork Co Dismantling 6 Barns in Bourbon County

Check out the awesomeness that is happening in Bourbon County! We just dropped barn #2 on the property. It is a huge 12 bent 7 tier to***co barn that is 144 feet long and 50 feet tall. The material coming out is Wide, Long, and Incredible. Check out posts over the next few weeks of the reclamation process.
