The hardscaping / stone walls and steps are getting done at our Lexington project. This will frame the patio off the rear of the home with access both from the mudroom and coming off the kitchen and dining room addition. The landscape design is by Timothy Lee landscape design with the work being executed by Extreme Landscaping LLC . The construction for the renovation and addition was by Maple Mill Construction (http://www.maplemill.com). Wonderful project with wonderful clients!

Exterior work is near completion. Patching the brick, completing the decking and stairs, installing the post and ceiling (oh, weโ€™re still waiting for 3 windows to come in so the siding can be finished). Interior work continues with the blue board just finished getting hung. has just started the tile work (masters at their craft!). The original windows were restored by (love working with Alison and her team). continues to do an excellent job (Alex is the best!). Such a great team to work with. So happy working on this project restoring our clients flood damaged home (a pipe burst when they were out of town) and with those repairs, updating the home for our clients to enjoy for many years to come

Windows have finally arrived on site and are getting installed in our project on an 1893 home in Newburyport - nice to finally see the light ๐Ÿ˜Š. Looking forward to seeing the siding go up and getting the insulation in so the interior finish work can begin. Great work by Alex Davis and the work being done by team

I want to give a shout out to my colleagues and friends who all made the repairs and restoration of the Amesbury Police Station balcony possible!

Ben Becker and his team of BLB Custom Building (Ben, I donโ€™t know your painters names - they did a terrific job), Andrew Brewin and his team at Modern Heritage LLC. Alison Hardy and her team at Window Woman of New England. Todd Hedly of TLH Consulting, Inc. for the structural input (this balcony will not be falling down anytime soon!). Of course Dan Staats here at Latady Design for all his measuring and drawing work. Tracey Fortier of Mass Historic who found the original drawings for the building, which helped us with our drawings and the discovery of the urns that had been part of the original design and were recreated by Modern Heritage. Also to Matthew Blanchette for doing the interviews and video production of the project and to Matt's recommendation of Keith Stromski, Arborist who pruned back the trees yesterday to open up the view to the balcony for all to see and enjoy. So wonderful to be a part of this group effort!

I've attached a before and an after picture here for all to see the improvements!

Now to find some volunteers to take down the fence, execute a nice landscaping plan, hide the mechanicals and redo the sign ๐Ÿ˜Š

Too much fun, indeed!

Progress photos on our project we are doing with BLB Custom Building. This porch in in Newburyport, MA and over looks Joppa Flats on the Merrimac River. The crew is doing a fantastic job. Next step is framing the ceiling joists and then putting down the Thermory white ash decking. Then the trim gets stated and the columns go in

Hot off the press! "Building a Better Way" is a story about a project recently completed with one of our favorite builders, Steve Vogt of Maple Mill Construction Management (http://maplemillcm.com) out of Needham, MA on a project we did together. The story was written by our good friend and wonderful writer Karen Rafeedie (https://www.karenrafeedie.com) and the graphic layout by the amazing Maria Pappas of Pappas Design (https://mpappasdesign.com). Please read and let us know what you think.

Started demolition on our 2nd project in Milton this year. We're taking down the existing "skinny" family room and adding a mudroom, large family room addition, renovating the kitchen and two bathrooms, and adding an exercise room below the new family room. This is another project we are doing with Maple Mill Construction (our 5th in the last 2 years!).

Outdoor Living - This Bedford project was completed a while ago, but I'm just now getting around to taking the photographs (I need to go back to take interior photos of the renovated kitchen and eating nook). The scope of the project included adding a third car garage with a 3 season porch above (with a gas fireplace and skylight above), a deck with pergola above, and a bluestone patio with a fire pit area and stone walls with planting beds (the planting design was by Jessalyn Jarest - http://jessalynjarest.com).

What a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy an evening with friends!
