NAWIC Columbia, SC, Chapter #113 is proud to announce the 3rd Annual “Construction Kids Discovery and Awareness Day.”

We encourage children, teenagers and families to participate.  Event facilitators and sponsors will provide a safe learning environment with demonstrations and hands-on experience. “Construction Kids” of all ages will have the opportunity to climb on-board a heavy piece of equipment or engage in construction-industry informational sessions.  Discover the power that lies within you to change the landscape of your future by considering a career in the construction industry.

The “Kids Zone” is sure to thrill our enthusiastic youngsters with games, a bounce house, facepainting and balloon animals.   Food trucks will be onsite to purchase from and free water & popcorn will also be given out.

Specialty Woodworks is looking for someone to join our Cabinet Department. Experience a plus but not required. Although this position does not require previous experience in woodworking or cabinet-building, a general knowledge of basic tools is helpful. We will train you – quickly. High school diploma required. Flexibility and ability to work with a team & with deadlines required. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Other requirements: quick thinking, good judgment, initiative, work ethic, functioning alarm clock, reliable transportation, willingness to learn and to sometimes do things not in your job description, and a sense of humor. Typical hours are M-Th, 6 am-5 pm; F, 6 am-2:30 pm; some Saturdays required.
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits offered after 90 days. We work hard here but have fun, too.
