The part of a kitchen renovation that matters most is often the least visible. It is how the new layout and materiality change the hundred small ways a space is lived in each day: how the cabinetry and finishes bring warmth and depth to the room, whether the person cooking can remain part of the conversation, whether several people can move through the space without bumping into each other, and whether family and friends have a natural place to settle in and stay a while.

At Harbor Haven, that meant creating a kitchen with a quieter presence. Our clients’ art collection already brings so much personality to the home, so we layered warm wood, Taj Mahal quartzite, and a textured backsplash in a way that feels rich and expressive without taking away from the other spaces in this beautiful home. It is a space designed to be lived in first, with beauty woven into every functional decision along the way.

Commercial design doesn’t have to feel corporate or expected.

For this wellness space, we leaned into warmth, texture, and personality, wrapping the walls and ceiling in natural wood and layering in art, sculptural lighting, and subtle pops of color. The goal was to create a space that feels immediately welcoming to patients while supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

Inviting, functional, and proof that commercial design can still have plenty of personality. 💛
