How to Paint Crispy, Sharp Corners Every Time 🎨✂️
​Getting a flawless line in wall corners, ceilings, and trim is usually what separates a rushed DIY job from a sharp, professional finish. If you want to stop fighting with messy lines, here is the ultimate guide to cutting in like a total pro:
​1. Choose the Right Brush
Skip the wide, flat wall brushes. You need a dedicated 2" or 2.5" angled sash brush. The angled bristles act like a pen, allowing you to control exactly where the paint meets the surface.
​2. Master the "Cut-In" Stroke
Instead of pointing your brush directly into the crease, start about a half-inch away from the actual corner line to unload the heaviest paint. Then, on your next pass, smoothly guide the long tip of the bristles right up into the seam.
​3. Watch the Paint Buildup
Deep inside three-way corners (where two walls meet the ceiling), paint loves to pool and drip. Use the dry, unloaded tip of your brush to pull any excess paint out of the crease and smooth it flat.
