We grew more than just mums this last year! After a long road marked by years of loss, grief, and many prayers, we are overwhelmed with gratitude to introduce our son, Bradford “Ford” Hayes Plouzek.
Before Ford, we walked through several heartbreaking losses at 18 weeks—seasons that changed us deeply. Marcus and I carried that grief, but so did our sweet girls, who loved and longed for their siblings right alongside us. There were moments when hope felt very far away, and we weren’t sure if this day would ever come.
But God.
Bradford is a name that carries both legacy and meaning. It is my dad’s middle name and Marcus' brothers name is Bradley. A quiet thread of faithfulness and strength woven into our family. The name itself means “broad crossing”—a reminder of being brought through deep waters to the other side.
His middle name, Hayes, feels just as sacred to us. The literal meaning, "hedge", brings to mind the prayers that covered this pregnancy—specifically the prayer for a hedge of protection that so many boldly spoke over him. It is a reflection of God’s covering, His nearness, and His care. My dad prayed that same prayer over our lives when we were young, and now that same protection has been carried forward to this little boy.
Ford’s story is already marked by the truth of Isaiah 43:16:
“This is what the Lord says—He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters…”
Our prayer for him is that his life would always be marked by courage—to step forward even when the path is not yet visible. That he would trust the God who makes a way, again and again, even when there seems to be no way.
Ford, you are our miracle, our answered prayer, and a living testimony that God is still writing beautiful stories—even after deep loss.
Welcome to the world, sweet boy. 🤍
