PLEASE remember WATER! WATER! WATER!
High temperatures along with high winds dry out hanging baskets, pots, window boxes and recently bedded transplants quickly. The level of watering that was sufficient during spring will quickly prove inadequate in the extreme heat. Check your hanging baskets, pots & window boxes twice a day, water in the morning and again in the early evening during extreme weather.
It is also important to note that even if it has rained, baskets still should be checked. Don't be misled!
As plants mature, leaves get larger, rain water will sometimes run right off the foliage. Even in a driving rain, an adequate amount of water may never actually make it into the basket.
If you're going away for a few days, consider moving containers into a shady spot to rest while you're gone.
Keeping up with watering will put less stress on your plants and help keep them in bloom! Stay Cool Everyone..
