Job Title: Fleet Mechanic

Pay Scale: $28 - $36 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Responsibilities
The Fleet Mechanic plays a vital leadership role in overseeing fleet maintenance, shop organization, and security. This position involves working closely with executive management to maintain and repair equipment ranging from small engines to heavy machinery. Key responsibilities include:
• Repair and maintain small engines, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
• Support our Driver Safety & Risk Management Program.
• Perform field mechanic work and travel as needed.
• Work overtime as required.
• Collaborate with supervisors, operators, laborers, and other mechanics as necessary.
• Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct general vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and diagnostics.
• Handle purchasing of parts and equipment.
• Maintain detailed records (e.g., tags, registrations, mileage, and service logs).
• Organize and clean the shop and fleet equipment.
• Demonstrate organizational skills.
• Safely operate power tools and work around heavy equipment.
Preferred Skills:
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical operations.
• Proficiency in automotive electronics and vehicle diagnostics.
• Personal tools are helpful but not required. We have a fully stocked shop with tools available to complete tasks.
• Prompt, reliable, and consistent work ethic.
Training:
• We would welcome newly graduated applicants with appropriate certifications and are happy to help with training, including areas where knowledge may be lacking, i.e., state-specific requirements.
Qualifications
• Ability to work well with a team and follow directions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a favorable motor vehicle record.
• Be physically fit and able to perform the normal duties of a diesel mechanic.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and complete tasks on schedule.
