Winter will be fast upon us and with heating fuel costs still being elevated it is best to figure out where your home has air leakage. Air leakage, insulation and the efficiency of your home’s heating system are the big 3 on saving on your home’s heating costs! Probably one of my more unusual builds, kind of the rat rod of picnic tables! The wood in this 8’ red cedar picnic table is all from old power poles that were in service for many decades. A good friend that is a lineman and coworker of mine used a sawmill to cut these boards from retired power poles. The boards varied in thickness and width but still had all the beauty of red cedar and only added to the rustic look. If you look close you can see the grey rounded surface in some spots. Still debating whether to stain or poly this one and where to put it.
