Happy Father’s Day y’all!! What better way to celebrate than kicking off our page?!

Tree Expert Company has been locally owned & operated by Larry Koon for 43 years. Licensed and insured, fair dealing & offering free estimates, emergency services, and the ability, knowledge & heart to complete even the most dangerous jobs, Larry has become well known and loved in the greater Lake Murray community as the true tree expert of the area.

Larry is a Lake Murray native, born and raised in Peak, SC & relocated to Little Mountain after marrying his wife, Elizabeth. They have 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Larry is a 1968 graduate of Mid-Carolina High, and continued his studies in The engineering program at the University of South Carolina. After spending several years as an engineer on construction sites & doing tree work as a secondary job, Larry decided to quit construction and go to work as the “Tree Expert” full time in order to maximize family time. It paid off, as he soon taught his sons & grandsons the trade as well!

As a huge supporter of small businesses, Larry regularly gives back to the community by dining at locally owned restaurants, sponsoring local sports teams, & so much more! When you hire him, not only do you allow him to provide for our family, but so many others in our community!

Growing up as Larry’s granddaughter, we could only ever drive a couple of miles in any direction of the Lake Murray/Columbia/Newberry area before him pointing and saying “I did a job there!” I am so blessed to hear the stories from members of our community of what an honest & hard working man he is, how he was fair dealing with someone’s elderly mother, or how he was out in the wee hours of the night getting a tree off of their house after an awful storm. I am thankful to be able to look up to someone who is committed, driven, and steady under pressure, so happy Father’s Day PawPaw!
