Since 2023 we were never just closets and organized storage. We’ve always designed and built luxury, custom-crafted cabinetry and architectural Millwork kitchens, wine, rooms, libraries, baths, pantries, garages, and spaces that demanded more than off the shelf thinking. Now, the name matches the work- and yes, closets are still very much our thing- just on a bigger stage!

✨ How it started ➡️ How it’s going ✨

This project was, fully designed, fabricated and installed in-house. From bare timber framing to a one-of-a-kind wine lounge, this Torch Lake retreat is transforming before our eyes. Our team brought this space to life with our signature Wine Box Quilt Wall, made entirely from real, reclaimed wine crates, reimagined into a showstopping feature that celebrates craftsmanship and storytelling in every detail.

Two striking storage walls in black and ivory oak veneer, anchor the room, each designed with purpose: one for wine, one for spirits. Behind custom brass mesh doors, you’ll find mirrored interiors, integrated LED lighting, Durasein solid surface counters, and solid brass hardware sourced all the way from Australia.

Though we’re based in Metro Detroit, our work travels from the city to the lake and beyond. Phase 1 of this project alone has encompassed four distinct spaces in the home, and we’re proud to share that we wrapped them up with zero punch list items- no return trips, no detail overlooked.

Luxury is in the details, especially in unexpected places. This residential elevator cab was designed and finished by our in-house teams to mirror the millwork wall cladding & storage in the home’s adjacent entryway. The matching veneer panels create a unified visual rhythm from floor to floor, transforming a simple lift into an architectural statement.

The Burke Millwork & Bespoke Closets team is heading to AWFS Fair 2025 this week—one of the premier events in woodworking, design, and innovation. Our Design Director, Jenny O’Connor, and Co-Owner, Kelly Victor-Burke, were invited to speak after wowing organizers at last year’s IWF conference. When you’re passionate about collaboration, craftsmanship, and workforce development—people take notice!

We’ll be a little quieter on email and social this week as we connect, inspire, and share our insights with makers and manufacturers from around the country.

In observance of Juneteenth, our offices will be closed tomorrow, June 19.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a powerful reminder of the importance of truth, justice, and the ongoing work of equity.

At Bespoke Closets and Burke Architectural Millwork, we honor this day by pausing operations to reflect, learn, and recommit to creating a workplace and world rooted in dignity, inclusion, and respect for all.

Yesterday, our Design Director, Jenny and our co-owner, Kelly arrived in Palm Beach for the 2025 annual and Conference and Expo! Activities included the .professionals anniversary celebration!
