Edwards Glass is proud to be a partner for the IBEW Local 58's exceptional building.

The newly renovated IBEW Local 58 headquarters in Detroit has been nominated for the Fourth Annual Governor’s Energy Excellence Awards for 2018! It’s Michigan’s first commercial Zero Net Energy facility and is a working showcase for 21st Century energy saving technologies. The building uses nine specific technologies and was
re-designed to simultaneously save and create enough energy on its own to offset any energy it uses from the grid.
NECA Signatory Contractors and other project partners included Conti Mechanical in Sterling Heights,
Strategic Energy Solutions in Berkley, Michigan Solar Solutions, LLC in Commerce Twp., Motor City Electric in Detroit, Jasman Construction in Plymouth, J D Candler Roofing and Edwards Glass Company both in Livonia.
The IBEW Local 58 headquarters building was nominated for Best Projects in the Commercial (Private) construction category. Winners will be announced at an event in September.

With an outstanding glass envelope, this landmark building will provide an abundance of natural light to otherwise darkened classrooms while using state-of-the-art glazing systems for thermal control.
