Where do we go now? That's a question many are asking now that Schwarz has closed, myself included.
During the last few weeks that the store was open, both Tom and I were overwhelmed by the love and support extended to us by so many of our customers, many of whom became not just familiar faces, but friends over the years. While it was hard to process entirely while in that moment, accompanied as it was by a chaotic blowout clearance sale, our gratitude and amazement was overwhelming as final closing preparations commenced.
The kind words and stories that you shared reminded us both of why we worked retail - to help YOU. People have trusted the staff at Schwarz through the years to lead them, asking the right questions along the way, making the steps as easy as possible so that both your projects and your home become a source of pride and satisfaction, enriching you and your family's lives. Personally, I was honored and humbled to be your trusted guide.
In that spirit, I have delayed writing this update until now, after I scoped out the next path. Many of you knew of my next plans, and quite a few of you had stories of your own to share, but were willing to try again. Despite the publicity that may still be on the radio this week, you will not find me at any paint store. I am taking a much-needed break after a very disappointing week to work on my own home and its many uncompleted projects.
As far as your next project, I suggest you do what I plan to do. Monday morning, I plan to visit Mike and Lisa at Fink's Paint Store (570) 367-5678) in Williamsport. I know they'll have what I need there, and they'll take the time to ask all the right questions. We trust their expertise and commitment to their customers and are confident that they'll take good care of you, too.
