We love to create new pieces out of anything from barn boards to left over scrap lumber! Everything we do at Second Chance Studio is unique and one of a kind. All of the signs are hand painted without stencils and many have a special antiquing technique added. A very special and big custom order completed! I was asked to not just paint Devils Lake, but to make sure the rock is visible as that is where he proposed - she said yes.😎 This measures about 2 feet by 4 feet and it was an amazing honor to create it for such a special couple. Also appreciated a pic of it installed! Thank you ! ❤️

The Lodi Wrestling Program has been a big supporter of our small family business for the past eight years. This year I painted by hand the name of each senior and their weight class along with the year on one side and on the other side I painted sayings that are an important part of the Lodi wrestling culture. Each senior received the hanger and attached to it was their wrestling singlet. What an awesome idea and I was truly honored to create such a special gift for these seniors. It was also a lot of fun to paint on wooden hangers!
It was also an honor to paint a sign for Coach Breunig for his dedication to the wrestling program and all those kids he impacted over the 20 years! Thank you Coach Breunig !

Taking a short break on custom orders to share some exciting news! We are proud to announce our partnership with Peaceful Valley Outdoors in beautiful Lodi, Wisconsin! This is an absolutely amazing store that is nestled at the heart of downtown in a beautiful, historic building. They have something for everyone and now pieces from Second Chance Studio! This space provides us with an opportunity to showcase our ‘non sign’ pieces with everything from live edge trays and boxes from reclaimed lumber or our lazy susans, those whimsical trees to the ever popular golf club bottle openers. We have so many exciting pieces to bring to you through Peaceful Valley! This partnership actually started last year and the support has been amazing! Thank you! Another custom order completed and some ‘warmth’ for this cold weather. This was painted for an absolutely wonderful couple for their anniversary. I was given a photo of a beautiful sunset in Belize as they departed on their cruise and it was a privilege to recreate it for them! Thank you for such a special custom order and Happy Anniversary! A custom project is not just something I do on my own as it truly involves the customer throughout the whole process and this is a perfect example. The customer had a vision and through many sketches and options, we settled on the final design and I absolutely loved creating this special piece. It is a tribute to his bar where the whiskey flows with each two finger pour. The two fingers represent the F for the title and the juke box shows his love of music as he has a jukebox in his bar. He wanted an aged look to it but also a clean layout. A custom piece can be challenging, but also so rewarding! Cheers to Ernie’s Two Finger Lounge and his wonderful support of our small family business with this super fun custom order! Thank You! Cheers!

Custom orders - you never know what you will be asked to do and this is a perfect example! One of my best friends from childhood asked me to create something special for his family. The family farm was being sold and he salvaged and saved the farm sign which was over 30 years old. He wanted to recreate the sign smaller for six family members. One side was in decent shape and the other was in rough shape. I felt it was important to keep part of the sign so I cleaned up the bad side, cut the entire board into six pieces and then recreated the sign on each board to look like the original sign. It was an awesome project! Thank you for trusting me to give this sign a ‘second chance’!
