Sometimes that quick service by the neighbor with a set of temu tools you squeeze in before a race weekend works out, most of the time it does not…. Both cartridge rods ruined, cartridge seals cut, cartridge bushings wiped out and a lap or so from a major catastrophic failure! Both jam nuts were left loose and unthreading as the bike was ridden leaving a good chunk of change being spent to get these kyb forks back to normal, but we were able to get them in and out for a proper service and shipped back in time for the race weekend! Just glad the worst outcome did not happen and we were able to get the customer back to it quickly!

If the internet breaks tonight it’s because I finally realized it was 2026 and my kids had to help me with my homework. Don’t get used to it, here is your first reel! This is a quick run through of a job we did on a WP fork and shock that comes on the 2024 and newer Austrian off-road bikes.

We had a customer call and ask us “hey do you have my setting from 2018?” Proudly without hesitation my answer is “yes we have saved everything since day 1” This throwback setup is no problem for us because we have always kept good records of all that we do. It’s wild to go back and see where you were and how far you have came as well. Although it’s no surprise this setup was a staple since I was also on a Honda at the time and spent countless hours testing, refining and adjusting to exactly what was feeling to get a bike that I really didn’t like, the best it could be. There is no surprise that something I felt, tested and perfected was a staple for my business. I guess you can say I have a certain ability to do that! Although now we have a digital file for every set we do, it used to be all notebooks, index files and lots of hand notes. We have more organization now, BUT with a backup that cannot be lost in the digital world or from a failure.
