As a landscaper myself one of my biggest peeves was when I went to a rock lot to get rock and I ordered X amount of tonnage of rock it was ALWAYS guessed at. There would be times I’d stop and weigh my loads and it would be light by a ton or more. In the grand scheme of things that doesn’t sound like much, until you’re buying hundreds of tons per season. So the first thing we did was put onboard scales on our loaders to ensure that our customers were getting exactly what they paid for. While we were very confident in the proficiency of the scales we wanted reassurance so today a customer ordered 5 ton of rock, we weighed the load before dumping and after and here are the results… Exact weight to the pound. I hope this means as much to you guys as it does to us!
