Big storms bring more than just shoveling. They bring power flickers, heavy ground saturation, and extra stress on your well system. While you’re staying cozy inside, your well pump and filtration system are working hard to keep up.

⚡ Post-Storm "Heads Up" for Well Owners:
Power Surges: Even a brief flicker can "confuse" a pump controller or trip a breaker. If your pressure feels off after the lights blinked, your system might need a professional reset.

Sediment & Runoff: Rapid snowmelt can sometimes introduce extra sediment or minerals into your system. If your water looks a little cloudy or your filters are clogging faster than usual, your treatment system might need a quick tune-up.

Pressure Tank Check: If your pump is "short-cycling" (turning on and off rapidly), it’s working harder than it should.

Take a look at the difference here. On the left is a filter that hasn't been changed in 6 months. On the right is a brand new 20-micron sediment filter.

That gunk is a mix of sediment, rust, and minerals that would have otherwise ended up in your drinking water, dishwasher, shower heads, and water heater (shortening its life!)
