Check out this project that we did at our own house. Kitchen needed a update with additional storage. Me and my fiancé did this project in two days. Updating the color, adding shelves, installing a new fan and rearranging existing items to bring this kitchen up to our style. We were able to keep the budget low on this project by repurposing some items just took a little bit more labor out side.
Comment COLOR if you would like to know the color of the paint we chose. Comment BUDGET if you wanna know how much we spent on this project.

A little project turned into a bigger project. Here are the Before and After photos of our kitchen space.
Our kitchen needed more storage for all of my fiancés baking stuff. We were just going to keep it easy and add the shelves. But.. after taking the coffee hooks off the wall it stripped the paint off, and it kept peeling. Paint prep is important and if not done right the paint won’t stick. So we sanded the walls to get all the shine off, patched the holes, washed the walls and hit it with a coat of primer. Then 2 coats of Behr simi gloss. While that dried we used cabinet grade plywood and cut down the wood for the shelves, added a trim to the edges for a more finished look, and stained them. The shelf brackets were repurposed and had to sand those down and hit them with some paint. We reused the coffee hooks and plan to add more wall storage for items that often land on the floor. I also repurposed a fan from another job that worked perfect for the area. We love how this turned out!

This was a fun part to create. I found this live edge planks off FB marketplace and then found the floating shelf led light brackets off Amazon. Came with a jig and I bought my first router to prep the wood for the brackets.
At the clients home I ran 18g wire at the location I wanted my shelves in the wall back to the switch location.
One of my favorite parts of the building was custom making the mantel and shelves.

Part 4 of this video series shows the construction of the custom mantel with hidden drawer that I built for my client. Starting from a single sheet of plywood I constructed the mantel and drawer box. Using 150 lb self closing drawer hardware to easily access the hidden storage perfect for storing remotes, game controllers, or even a place to hide valuables. With final approval I’ll stain it and start on the floating shelves.
