The City of Long Beach and Seventh District Councilmember Roberto Uranga, along with the Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance (WANA) and the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, will host the 67th Annual Daisy Lane Parade on Saturday, Dec. 11, from noon to 4 p.m. This year’s newly reimagined festivities will showcase a festive car parade through the Wrigley Neighborhood, safely bringing holiday cheer directly to residents’ doorsteps.
To ensure the health and safety of all parade participants and viewers, this year’s parade will include a shortened cavalcade of holiday-decked vehicles and characters that will weave through Wrigley Neighborhood streets, rather than the traditional march along the grassy Daisy Lane median. The parade will pass through neighborhood streets between Wardlow Road and Pacific Coast Highway on the north and south and Magnolia Avenue and the Los Angeles River on the east and west. Spectators may view the parade from any of these streets, as the parade will follow the flow of traffic.
Some common questions:
Will parking be impacted?
Daisy Lane from PCH to Hill will have interior (nearest to the Daisy Lane) posted for no parking. Also, no parking on DeForest north of Willow and 33rd Way
Where can I view the parade?
Anywhere along the route where you can safely distance from others.
How will I know the trolley is coming?
You will be able to hear it, before you see it. Also, a tracker will be shared an hour before the route begins. It will be shared to this page.
What is the route?
The route will cover the exact parade route first, then zig zag south of Willow, cross Willow and zig zag north to Wardlow, taking Magnolia back down.
Will there be traffic impacts?
Daisy from 25th to Willow will be closed for about an hour from 11am to 12pm. Traffic will be stopped momentarily as the trolley crosses to the neighborhood north of Willow and also to cross Magnolia and Willow on the way back. The trolley will have a police es**rt to allow it to move freely through the neighborhood with minimal disruption.
Can I participate in the parade?
Due to the pandemic, we had to limit the number of participants to a small group. We hope you all will join us by viewing the event this year, and we hope to have the parade back in its traditional format next year.
