We still have CSA opportunities for this summer. The application is attached to this post so you can read more about what a CSA is. The price of food is not going to get cheaper any time soon. A bag of freshly picked in season food is worth $30 a week. We are organic growers and the complaint we get is that there is too much food in the bag. If there is a problem this is your chance to share food with other families. We put recipes in the bag and a letter explaining what is happening on the farm or explaining what maybe a new taste for you, like what kohlrabi is or quince (your grandmother would know what that is).

We are actively planting our available vegetable starts into the field and high tunnels. If you still have a need for transplants to let us know because they won’t be available much longer

We have several varieties of fruit trees that do well in this area. Cherries, Pears, Apples, Blueberries,
We have a good supply of tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, eggplant, basil starts which will be ready to purchase in the upcoming weeks as soil conditions warm up to allow transplanting outdoors.
Our soil is drying out enough for us to till/prepare our fields for direct seeding of spinach, lettuce, carrots, potatoes, peas, Swiss chard, greens, et
We have several high tunnel greenhouses which has allowed us to plant early crops of warm season vegetables to get a jump on the season.
We are also seeding crops such as squash and cucumbers in pots in the greenhouse to transplant into the fields as soil temperatures rise In the coming weeks.
Native plants including pollinators, ground covers and grasses are also available now and now is a good time to plant them.
We are finalizing our farm share CSA now which will run from early July until fall with shares costing 30.00 per week. We have never had a complaint about quality or value. You can access the form on Watershed Garden works page or you can call Dixie @ 360/425-1885 or 360/423-6456

Home gardening, community gardening and tiny food forest gardening – especially for the growing of food- is increasing in popularity in the US as well as around the world.
This surge in urban food growing is partly due to rising fuel and food costs. It is also on the rise for its ability to build community, increase food resiliency, provide access to hyper local foods for optimum nutrition.
Experienced gardeners know the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health benefits of gardening.
In 2026 gardeners can save several hundred dollars or momore on a small garden plot like in the community gardens. Heirloom varieties of vegetable can be designated for saving seeds which will save many on next years seed purchase but will allow you to naturally breed a crop specifically for your micro climate. Plants become more disease and pest resistant which will also save money.
Gardeners can supplement income with number crips of some vegetables which can be sold or bartered.
Finally, gardeners can make applesauce, tomato sauce, sauerkraut, salsa and pickles, which can be used throughout the winter while also saving money. We are considering water bath canning classes as the gardening season matures. We can also talk about freezing things like pesto or green vegetables.
