I 💕 gardening. Got my hanging baskets hung, planted some seeds, planted strawberries, tomato, and kale. Replanted my lime tree to a bigger pot. Sharing some lovely pics!

Have not posted in a while we moved and I wouldn’t call myself a homestead anymore. Park like acreage and a big finished home. I don’t think my family was really fitting that bill as much as I wanted more self sufficiency and less material lifestyle oh well. In honestly would live totally different if I still could. At least it’s beautifully landscaped. Here are some wonderful pictures today to enjoy!

Have an apple 🌳 or access to some apples.

Dehydrated apple slices are some of my kids fav’s.

A simple use for bruised or excess apples is super easy, homemade apple cider. I was surprised how easy it was. It was actually my daughter and her friend who climbed the tree came in with apples tucked into their shirt and said “can we make cider.” 🍎🍏🍊 sure you can I love that they have this knowledge you can make your own stuff. In a society where everything is artificial it is nice to learn these skills!

There are lots of recipes out there in terms of ratio’s.

Sliced apples
Water
Sectioned oranges
Add cinnamon and cloves
Basically boil the mixture for about 30 mins and simmer for 2 hours.
Brown sugar to your liking

Strain and enjoy.
Refrigerate leftovers.

Blackberry season free berries = YUM
It is simple

Pie crust/store Bought or homemade
Berries - enough for a pie dish
Cup of sugar
Cinnamon
And 4 heaping spoons of cornstarch
Bake at 400 30 mins covered in foil
Then another 30 without foil

These Delicata squash look like flowers when I cut them. They are a nutty firm squash. Unlike the zucchini and yellow squash varieties they don’t get mushy and soggy. Yummmy

Such an accomplishment to put food on our table that I grew. However my husband says we would save money buying organic at the store lol.

Just a few weeks of heat and the garden has really grown. We probably will be moving out and onto another property very soon. I will miss walking out to my garden, but I won’t miss the amount of work it took. My new yard is all nicely landscaped and i will keep me sharing my love of plants😍🌸🌾🌿🌻
