🚨 Northeast Ohio homeowners — check your exterior door jambs THIS WEEK.
After a winter like this one, we're seeing it over and over again: rotted door bottoms that could have been prevented with a little time and a tube of caulk.
Here's something most homeowners don't realize — when your door was installed, it came from the factory primed, not painted. That means unless someone sealed and painted those jambs, water has likely been sneaking in at every joint, every winter, doing slow damage you can't see until it's too late.
The fix is simple: → Use a paintable exterior-grade caulk (like Big Stretch — not 100% silicone, you need it to be paintable) → Seal all joints around the door jamb, especially at the bottom corners → Paint over it with a quality exterior paint
That's your whole to-do list. Do this now before the spring rains kick in and you're calling us for a full door replacement instead.
We share a free Home Tip of the Week because we genuinely believe an informed homeowner is a better homeowner — and we'd rather you fix the small stuff than need us for the big stuff. 😄
But when you DO need us — for door replacement, deck repair, fence installation, or anything else on that honey-do list — we're just one call away.
