AC repair cost #1 parts cost increased more this year than any year in the past. Let's look at repair cost. #2 techs spend 2 years in school plus up dates and other classes to repair the equipment ok so we have parts labor figure $100 per hour this includes SSI insurance vacation. Next truck expense with insurance, workman comp and tools. When done you are lucky to make $20 per hour,. Now compare that to a car repair You take the car to the repair shop that's about an hour, they charge over $150 per hour on a book rate for the repair and nobody complains. Also note the larger the company the bigger the expenses they have . So as you see getting your AC repaired is less expensive then repairing your car
