Metropolitan Historical Fencing Academy MHFA is a Historical Fencing School run by nationally and internationally known coaches offering classes in a number of swords and fencing styles.

What a day! Fencers came from over twenty different clubs to compete in the Kings Cup Series event. Our largest event of the day was the Open, where Charlottesville HEMA's Piotr Przanowski took gold in a nail-biting sudden-death finish. Our closing event was the URG tournament, where Alexandra Faur, also of Charlottesville HEMA, worked her way to the top. And we opened our day with the Veterans' 40+ tournament, where Stephen Dougherty of Crossing Fight School was our winner. We saw a lot of very impressive today and are thankful to all our competitors for coming. Special shout-out to BD Madlinger, who has maintained his top position on our leaderboard, which you can find on our website!

Happy ! This is a great day to remember the important place people of African descent have in . From the decorated General Thomas-Alexander Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie all the way to depictions of fencers in the works of Talhoffer, Meyer, Mair, and others, Africans and people of African descent have a long and well-documented history in European martial arts. We consider diversity to be vital to a strong HEMA community: HEMA is and will always be for everyone. We're also delighted by how much we can share with the Historical African Martial Arts community!

Greetings from sunny Atlanta! MHFA had an amazing showing and an excellent time at SERFO, where Morgan picked up bronze in URG Longsword, Coach Connor took gold in First Blood Rapier and Dagger, and Coach Collin grabbed 4th in Conventional Rapier. We had a total of 12 members compete at the event, and 2 more along to volunteer and cheer us on. We're proud of all our fencers' performances in all their triumphs and troubles.

MHFA back on the podium! At the ARFL event over the weekend we saw coaches Collin and David with 1st and 4th in Saber, Genevieve in 3rd for URG Longsword, and finally David, Jim and Spike in 1st through 3rd in Sword and Buckler! Also a shout out to friend of the club Kevin of Roundtable, who grabbed 3rd in Saber. We're proud of all our fencers who competed and are thrilled to see the results of their hours of practice.

The sunburns are worth it! Four of our members have the honor of being in the Order of the Marshal, which puts on historical fencing demonstrations at the VA Ren Faire, with proceeds going to Make-A-Wish. Daggers for the children!
