He is risen!! We are set free from the prison of the grave and the shackles of sin! Because of Him we will live again, see our past loved ones, and receive glory. Because of Him, we can repent and become clean! He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light!

Do we really need Him? Do we need someone to tell us how to be better people? Do we need someone to fight our battles? Do we need someone to help us when we are alone, scared, or angry? Do we need healing?
YES!! All of us fall short of choosing wisely or being our best. All of us experience pain, indecision, stress, loneliness, heartache and all that comes with being human. Why do we insist on doing it alone, relying on our own strength and knowledge when there is Someone who has help and hope for every situation. Christ has the answer, is the answer and strength we need.

Just as His pain and anguish was on Friday, His joy came later, on Sunday, when He finished the atonement, breaking the bands of death, to be resurrected. We then can know our Sunday will come. Our joy WILL come through Christ because of Him. We need Him!!

SUNDAY IS COMING!

It’s more than a day. But that one day crowned the rest. Death was conquered by His resurrection. It finished the atonement and made it complete. We are saved from sin and death. Everything else the world has to offer pales in comparison. Because of His sacrifice, death and resurrection, we all can become something extraordinary and holy. What is better than that? What is more important? Nothing!

I’ve been healed, lifted, and strengthened through faith in Jesus Christ. The last 4 months would have looked way different without Him. Losing my father sooner than expected and caring for the needs of my mother have been a roller coaster of experiences and feelings. But I could and do feel the strength of my Savior lifting me and giving me peace. I’ve been able to do things beyond what I thought I could do. I feel blessed to be able to care for my parents. It hasn’t been easy. But I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve them. I will continue to trust God’s plan for us.

Christmas hutch is more reflective of my thoughts this year. He brings me peace!

Since I’ve been focusing on other things, IG has taken a back seat. I forgot to take pictures until people started to arrive. I ended up with a couple models 😆. And the rest of the room didn’t get a pic. Just imagine red green and gold on the couch pillows and blankets.

Waiting for the masses to descend! With all that’s happened this fall, Christmas has been slow going but I think we’re ready for everyone.
The living room has been turned into a living space for my mom, the tree count is down to 2 trees instead of 4, and Christmas dinner has been ordered. Simplifying feels good!

It has helped but God is in the details and my strength over the stress. I’m so grateful to be able to celebrate the good news of having a Savior that has guided my decisions, lifted my spirits, strengthened my capacity, and saved me from death and sin!! He makes it possible for me to move forward with faith in the face of tragedy and find joy in life!Grateful indeed!!

With the recent death of my father, a lot of thoughts have passed through my head. Although there is grief and pain, I’m still grateful for my faith in the plan of life. It’s a gift of richness, complexities and yet, it’s still simple. Our spirits existed before, came to earth to learn, then return to where we came from.
But because we don’t know what’s going on in the spirit world, for sure, we are given faith. It drives us to learn, love, and experience life. We have faith that health is possible, so we seek health. We have faith that love is possible, so we seek love. Hopefully we have faith that there is a God, turn to God, trust Him, and live the life He wants for us. At least that’s what I’m trying to do.
What is so marvelous to me is that the sun rises for the wicked as well as the righteous. All of us have a portion of His light and faith!The Father loves us all!

Words cannot express the gratitude, love, and sorrow I’ve felt over the last 3 weeks. There were moments of hope, determination, frustration, and a sense of surreal reality. This wasn’t supposed to happen yet although we knew it was a possibility. Cancer just doesn’t give up. Strangely it wasn’t the cancer but rare complications from the treatments.
Dad you fought a good fight! I’m sorry you didn’t get your wish of five more years, but you lived well the time you had. Now you’re out of pain and can care for your family from the other side of the veil. We’re grateful for God’s tender mercies throughout your transition. It means a lot that you were able to see your family before you left. Don’t worry about Mom. We’ll take good care of her. Even though you weren’t my father at birth, you are my father forever! Love you Dad! I’ll miss you!! Till we meet again!
