come along with me to apply beneficial nematodes to my garden 🪱 last year raccoons and squirrels were digging up my beds constantly, and it turns out grubs are a big reason why.

beneficial nematodes are a fully natural, organic way to target grubs in the soil before they become a bigger problem, and honestly it’s one of the easiest things you can do for your garden this season 🌱

find them at your local nursery or garden center (link in bio) — go ask for them by name, they’ll know what you’re talking about!

If you have fungus gnats, the problem is in your soil and the solution is too 🪱

Beneficial nematodes are microscopic organisms that naturally seek out and eliminate fungus gnat larvae underground — no chemicals, no sprays, just nature doing what it does.

Pair that with earthworm castings, which improve soil drainage and structure so fungus gnats can’t breed in the first place, and you’ve got a complete organic system that works long term 🌱

This is what organic pest control actually looks like and we’re not going back! Find Organic Control’s Fungus Gnat control at a local nursery or garden center near you (store locator in bio).

Come with me to build a Mother’s Day arrangement for my mom 🌸

My mom is the reason I garden. The reason I slow down and pay attention to living things. And this year, making something with my hands for her just felt right.

But while I was putting this together, I kept thinking about the friends in my life who are walking into this weekend carrying something heavy. Friends who have lost their moms. Friends who are estranged from theirs. Friends who never really had the mom they deserved.

I think about them every time something like this comes around.

Gardening has always felt like an act of love to me — the tending, the showing up, the patience it takes to help something grow. It’s what the best women in our lives do for us, whether they’re our moms or not.

So if you still have her, cherish this weekend. And if you don’t — or if it’s complicated — I hope you find a way to honor the women who shaped you, and hold your people a little closer 🌿

Grubs were digging up my yard every night. As it turns out I had grubs under the surface damaging my roots and attracting raccoons and skunks. I needed to fix it at the source.

That’s why I used Organic Control Grub Control. It works below ground with beneficial nematodes to target grubs right in the soil. Just mix with water, soak for at least one hour, and apply. Then they get to work—no constant reapplication needed. No harsh chemicals. Just a smarter, long-term solution.

If you’re dealing with the same thing, this is the one product I recommend 🌱🪱 Find it at your local nursery or garden center!

what we spotted 👀 Disneyland Resort using beneficial insects to maintain beautiful, high-traffic landscapes—without relying on routine chemical sprays 🌿

ladybugs, lacewings, and other natural predators are doing the work behind the scenes… keeping plants healthy while supporting a more balanced ecosystem

even better? they’re educating guests along the way! this is what the future of pest control looks like: working with nature, not against it

and it’s not just for large-scale landscapes—you can bring this same approach into your own backyard 🐞

And here’s to a different kind of earth day gift 🌎🐣

Today I am releasing ladybugs and praying mantids to help protect my garden for our coming summer pests!

I release ladybugs for immediate support, and place my ootheca in a sheltered spot to hatch dozens (even hundreds) of mantids.

Now it’s time to be patient and let nature take over 🌿 Skip the sprays and grow your own garden defenders instead.

no spray zone 🌎🚫🌿this Earth Day, we’re choosing a different approach to pest control

instead of spraying, we’re letting nature handle it 🐞 ladybugs and praying mantids are some of the best natural defenders in the garden—helping control aphids and other pests without disrupting the ecosystem

it’s a simple shift, but it makes a big difference for pollinators, pets, and your plants

a healthier garden starts by working with nature, not against it 💚 ready to make the switch? start your own no spray zone this weekend

When things feel heavy… you don’t always need an escape 🌎… Sometimes you just need a place that brings you back to yourself and gives something back to the environment too.

This Earth Day, think beyond a single garden and into a pollinator pathway 🐝🦋 Even experienced gardeners can make a bigger impact by adding just a few intentional plants that provide continuous blooms, habitat, and food sources throughout the season. Small shifts, like choosing pollinator-friendly varieties or planting in succession, can help connect your space to something larger.

So grow with purpose, support the ecosystem, and create a space that restores more than just your garden 💚

It’s garden check-in time! 🌱✨ I spent some time out in my eco-garden today just noticing what’s new… my very first passionfruit finally showed up on the vine, which feels like such a full circle moment.

My little sunflower seedlings are still small, but they’re coming in strong—one of those quiet reminders that growth doesn’t always happen all at once! I noticed a few pests here and there, but overall everything feels balanced, alive, and doing its thing, especially after a praying mantid release a couple weeks ago.

This is what building a garden ecosystem looks like 💚 not perfect, just working together. If you’ve been thinking about going more natural in your garden, this is your sign to start this next weekend 🌼
