After the unbelievable devastation here in Los Angeles over the past two weeks it felt good to get out and do something positive. On MLK Day we headed to to lend a hand in support of their mission of helping people transition out of homelessness and poverty. Thanks LAFH for having us, and for all your contributions to the recovery efforts.

Excited to announce that Principal Toni Lewis is the 2025 VP/President-elect of AIA/Los Angeles, AND Project Manager Ashley Morales Diaz is the 2025 VP/President-elect of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design.  

Toni and Ashley will be busy! The and are both incredible organizations, working to build a better Los Angeles by supporting the design community through advocacy, the fostering of design excellence, and professional development.

BlockHouse.

BlockHouse examines a different way to inhabit a typical Los Angeles residential lot.

Rather than filling the program elements at the front of the lot, leaving a rear yard accessible from the back of the house, the BlockHouse groups the majority of the program on the west side of the property, leaving open space along the east. The living room is a glass box set in the landscape, with tall doors that connect directly through both sides to the outdoors.
